This fibreboard panel fitted to TR4A, 250 and 5's, covers the rear transmission tunnel and the handbrake cable. In its original form it had attached to it the handbrake gaiter in coloured vinyl to match the carpets.
The fibreboard panel is no longer supplied with the handbrake gaiter attached to it, as carpet sets currently supplied include a rear tunnel carpet with the appropriately coloured handbrake gaiter sewn into the carpet. See below
