Standard Steel petrol tanks were zinc lined for protection against corrosion as a result of condensation in the tank beading and producing fine rust particles.

These particles are death to a fuel system and will quickly clog fuel filters. PI systems will in particular be seriously affects. Our steel petrol tank, which is only available to special order, is made from a special grade of steel that is not stainless steel, but is more resistant to corrosion than ordinary mild steel. It is still likely to corrode in time though.
For this reason Revington TR recommend our aluminium version. Order part number 312359XALK.
You will also need a sender gasket 2H1082 and a tin of Heldite sealant TDC5001-125. See below.
