Cap shown with pinned thrust bearing

Cost to modify a 6-cylinder engine to incorporate an extra thrust washer. This cost applies if the Crankshaft/block/cap all require machining.

This procedure may be needed if the thrust washers have already fallen out and are now residing in the bottom of the sump. See RTR1007 if the cap only needs machining. Please note that the cost may vary if the crank/block/cap are excessively damaged.
TR6, GT6, Vitesse, 2000 2-5PI. i.e. all Triumph 6 cylinder engines suffer from poor crank thrust location and at worst the thrusts can fall out. RevingtonTR can modify your engine to improve this situation by incorporating a second thrust washer on the rear thrust face. Should you wish to have this work done locally, please see Technical instruction RTRTI1007 attached for a detailed description of the procedure. See below
Please note: -
This procedure involves removal of the engine then crankshaft/block/cap machining and is normally carried out when overhauling an engine. If we are not rebuilding your engine, and you would like us to do this work, you will need to deliver the relevant parts to us for modification, and collect them afterwards.
It has been suggested in the past that we could offer a dummy engine block half of the main bearing housing to mate with the main bearing cap thus enabling the cap to be machined whilst the engine is still in the car. However the block and cap are matched and a dummy would not necessarily be a perfect fit. As the process is a precision operation we feel that this should only be tackled with the engine out and set up properly in a machine shop.
TR5-6, Vitesse, 2000 2-5PI. i.e. all 6 cylinder cars. The Triumph 6 cylinder engine suffers from poor crank thrust location and at worst the thrusts can fall out. RevingtonTR can modify your engine to improve this situation.

Should you wish to have this work done locally, please see Technical instruction RTRTI1007 attached for a detailed description of the procedure.
