TR250, 5, 6 aircraft grade aluminium alloy valve caps anodised red. When designing this cap we chose to emulate the solid cap type part number 111870. The cap can be used for both inlet and exhaust valves.

The original exhaust cap is a two piece item known as the double collar type consisting of two part numbers 128334 and 128335. This arrangement holds the spring, or springs in exactly the same way as the inlet; in other words the measurement from the top of the springs to the base of the valve is the same whichever cap type is used (assuming the valves are same length of course) resulting in the same spring pressure. There is one important difference between the two types however. The inlet cap provides location for the inner spring whereas the double collar arrangement does not, so our aluminium cap when used on the exhaust is not only an improvement in rocker train dynamic weight, but in spring location too.
Our caps are made from very high aircraft grade aluminium, precision machined to exacting dimensions and tolerances to ensure correct valve, collet and spring location, and are anodised red to the highest grade to ensure long life in operation.

General notes
When installing a new cam and/or refurbishing the cylinder head with new valves it is important to ensure the spring pressure is correct for the cam being used and the rev range expected. In addition it is imperative that the springs do not become coil bound on full lift. To ensure this the springs may need to be shimmed or alternative longer/shorter springs chosen. If in doubt purchase a new set of springs. Revington TR offer a range of standard and uprated springs, see below.
Excessive cam wear will occur if springs which are too strong are used. Only use the lowest rate springs required to ensure no valve bounce. This in many cases would mean a high quality standard set.
As a guide 80lb seat pressure and 190lb full lift pressure is normal. For big valves and high lift coupled with high revs, 90lb and 230lb absolute maximum might be reached but this would be in a race situation where the components would be expected to be worn out quite quickly.
