main

TR250, 5, 6, Extractor Manifold 6 into 1, manufactured in stainless steel consisting of a front 3 into 1 manifold, a rear 3 into 1 manifold, both of which are mandrel bent for maximum gas flow and a Y piece.

This exhaust manifold is generally considered the most efficient manifold available. When first tested a 25hp increase in power was achieved with this manifold and its associated exhaust system RTR2045. No other engine modifications were incorporated at the time.
It is important to note that due to the design of the primary pipes of the manifold, it is essential that in PI application the Revington TR overhead throttle mechanism is used, details of which can be found in Section 4 (Fuel and Braking systems) of our catalogue and on our website. Also TR250 and early TR6 carburettor inlet manifolds will not fit and will need to be replaced with the long inlet type. The exhaust manifold is mandrel bent for best practical gas flow. See below for linked parts.
The outlet size of the Y piece is 57mm o/d ( 54mm i/d).

The extractor manifold weighs 5.4 kg, a significant saving over the cast manifold which weighs 6.8kg and the extractor manifold effectively includes the down pipes too.

Our TR250,5,6 exhaust manifold and system was devolved for Revington TR by Mike the Pipe in Croydon in the late 80 s. At the time he was renowned as THE exhaust specialist. The first set was fitted to a friend s TR6 fitted with a smooth recently built standard TR6 engine. We tested the system on a local rolling road first (we didn t have our own then); fitted the system then rushed back to ensure the atmospheric conditions where identical. The second rolling road test revealed that the new manifold and system had increased the power by 25hp.
Since then our system has been much copied, some copies detracting from the original concept to enable aftermarket inlet manifolds to fit amongst other reasons, thus robbing power. Our system is still a true facsimile of the original design although made in stainless steel now.
