The late TR6 dash mounted light switch was fitted to TR6 cars from 1973 onwards with commission numbers CR and CF. The switch was made by Clear Hooters and was of notoriously bad quality and prone to failure.

This switch is a Lucas alternative, we also offer an aftermarket illuminated replacements for Clear Hooters rocker switches.
Although the Clear Hooters switches were original equipment on TR250, TR5 and TR6 for operating the Wipers, Washers and headlights, they did often result in dramatic failures in use, and some of them were recalled by the factory. The Lucas switches are slightly larger than the Clear Hooters switches, but they fit perfectly into the rectangular apertures cut into the wood dash panel. However, it is necessary to enlarge the hole in the metal dash behind the wood dash to fit the Lucas switches. The aftermarket illuminated switch for the headlamps may need very slight easing of the wood too up to 0.5mm each side.
Note also that the wiper and washer Lucas switches have chrome painted bezels. If a black bezel is preferred, the chrome finish can be easily rubbed off with chrome polish.
