TR2-4 Phosphor Bronze conversion Guide set of 8 guides, four for standard inlet size and four to convert from 3/8" exhaust valve stems to 5/16" stems.
The Inlet Valve Guide suits a shaft diameter of 5/16" (7.94mm), the guide has an outside diameter of 0.5025" (12.76mm). The guide is 2.0625" long
The Exhaust Guide is a Conversion Bronze Valve Guide suitable for valves having a shaft diameter of 5/16" (7.94mm), the guide has an outside diameter of 17/32" [0.5355"](13.49mm). The guide is 2.0625" long
TR2-4 cylinder heads are fitted with inlet valves having a shaft diameter of 5/16" (7.94mm) and an outside diameter of 0.5025" (12.76mm). Four guides to suit these dimensions are included in this kit.
The standard exhaust valves however have a shaft diameter of 3/8" (9.53mm) and an outside diameter of 17/32" (13.49mm). When a valve with a 5/16" stem is to be fitted a special guide is required with an internal diameter of 5/16" and an outside diameter of 17/32". Four guides to suit these dimensions are included in this kit.
Note that valve guides are supplied with the I/D approximately 0.003" undersize so that once fitted they are honed out to be a perfect fit to the valve stem. Likewise the O/D is 0.003" oversize to ensure an interference fit in the cylinder head
For reference a TR4A head has guides with an outside diameter of 0.5025" (12.76mm) in all locations.
